IB Objectives Alignments

IB Objectives Alignments

In an IB literature review report written by Dr. Richard Watermeyer, it is stated that “It is essential to appreciate that curriculum is never static nor immutable but is a process of constant evaluation in response to an ever changing world” (1).; and we embrace this concept at the International School of Älmhult.

The school has a large variety of possible units, and what we show here on the website is only a “sampling” of the possibilities.  By looking at the Yearly Overview, you can get a taste of what kinds of topics we investigate, and the many formats an assessment could take. Task specific rubrics and other forms of clarification are given to further explain what is expected and how each criterion will get assessed. For more information about assessment, please see our schools’ Assessment Policy available on the website.

Decisions for which units are done within the subject areas are decided in collaboration by the subject teachers previous to the start of the school year. Teachers consider such factors as whether there are opportunities for Interdisciplinary Units, what the students have done previously, reflection on past units, as well as the students’ and teacher’s own interests.
